I am a member of two classes of 1981 thanks to a mid-year family move from Huntsville to Charlotte, NC. I spent most of my senior year at South Iredell High School and then went to the Univ. of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. I studied business and psychology. During college I worked weekends at an amusement park in the Carolinas called Carowinds. My first job there was to direct traffic in the parking lot. (It's as hot in NC in the summer as it was in Huntsville. So I didn't last long in parking business.) I then spent 25 years working for the same company in NC, Las Vegas (at a cool attraction called Star Trek: The Experience), and in Cincinnati (at Kings Island).
The company was sold in 2006 so I moved to Washington, DC to work for the international trade association for the parks and attractions industry.
I enjoy what I do but I don't see myself living in DC forever. My partner and I live in Alexandria, Va., with out retriever, Java.
